This month’s WIN Breakfast Meeting is Friday, July 25, in the Naples Ballroom of the Peppermill Hotel/Casino.

The buffet opens at 7 a.m., with the program running from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The entrance fee is $30 for non-members and $15 for members who do not have the Pre-Paid membership. Buy tickets ahead of time using the interface below OR at the door.

WINx – Unsung Heroes 

This special WIN session will be devoted to the stories of distinguished Veterans of the Nation’s conflicts.

Sergeant Bill Farr landed on Omaha Beach during the Normandy invasion in World War II, then pursued the Nazis through the Battle of the Bulge and the Siegfried Line.  Farr and his platoon also marched in the parade commemorating the Liberation of Paris, alongside General Charles de Gaulle’s Free French Forces.

Steve Katzmann spent 10 ½ years in the US Army as a Commissioned Officer and helicopter pilot, attaining the rank of Major. During his time in the military, Steve served as platoon leader of the 82nd Airborne Division, Tank Company Commander with an armored Calvary Squadron in Germany, helicopter pilot in the Republic of Vietnam, as well as Gunship Platoon Leader and Assistant Division Aviation Officer with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.

Sergeant Dylan Gray did three tours with the 3rd BN, 4th Marines as a Scout Sniper in Iraq.  In 2007, with one month left on his 3rd tour, the Humvee he was driving was hit by an IED.  The explosion resulted in the amputation of both of his legs below the knees.

Our emcee is WIN Past President, Chuck Alvey. Chuck is a member of the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame and worked in broadcasting for 31 years in Arizona and Nevada. He was CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada for 13 years, and currently serves as a business advisor and Executive Coach with Vistage International.
